Sponsored Students




I HAVE INSURANCE THROUGH A SPONSOR – CAN I WAIVE THE SCHOOL INSURANCE PLAN?
 
If you are studying at ESU as part of a sponsored program, you will likely have insurance that meets the requirements.  The steps for waiving the school insurance are the same if you have a sponsored insurance plan.  Please see the instructions below.
 
HOW TO SUBMIT A WAIVER THROUGH ECI
If you do not want the United Healthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) insurance plan, you must do the following:
  1.  Set up an account with ECI Services.
  2. Log into your ECI Services account to go to the waiver portal administered by ECI Services.  
  3. Enter your insurance information on the Waiver Form and upload a copy of the front and back sides of your insurance card.
  4. Waiver requests will be accepted and processed by ECI Services only during the insurance waiver processing dates listed above.

If you are not sure whether you program comes with insurance, we encourage you to reach out to your program sponsors for more information.
 

You may also be required to submit additional documentation that the Office of International Education will need to keep on file.
 
Examples of Additional Documentation:
  • A letter from your sponsoring program
  • A summary of your program’s details
