Short Term Programs

I AM COMING TO ESU AS PART OF A SHORT TERM PROGRAM, DO I NEED INSURANCE?

Yes, all F1 and F2 students who are enrolled are required to have insurance while in the United States, and all J1 students and J2 dependents are required to have insurance while in the United States, regardless of whether or not you are enrolled.  You will still need to meet the minimum requirements for health insurance.

Our Study Abroad Coordinator will help you determine whether you need the Student Health Insurance Plan or whether your program offers approved health insurance.  For questions or concerns about insurance for short term programs, please contact our Study Abroad Coordinator, Jess Brinkman at jmccauls@emporia.edu

Halfmester Students

We have a separate Student Health Insurance Plan for Halfmester students that offers the same benefits for a shorter amount of time.  Please contact Kelly Rolen at krolen@emporia.edu for more information.
